Half way there

So I got one sock finished tonight - - - finally!
It has many, many mistakes, things that would normally cause me to frog the whole thing but I just couldn't this time. I figured it'll be in my shoe most of the time so no one has to know but me and anyone who bothers to read this little ol' blog.
Did I mentioned all of the mistakes?
Ahh whatever, it's still a sock and I love it!
Oh yeah, and half the heal is inside-out because I forgot to adjust the directions for my left-handedness. And there's a row of purl instead of knit. And I dropped a stitch and had to fudge it. Yeah, I think that pretty much covers most of the really obvious errors.

Knitty Bitty Two!

Well we went to see the ladies at the nursing home again and believe it or not they remembered us AND they were happy to see us! We had a bigger turn out and everyone seemed happy with the enormous supply of donated yarn Jana and Erin provided as well as with the plans to make sachets.
Ahhh the sachets! I think Jana, Erin and I were the only ones who actually made any (maybe some were made at the crochet table?) but the ladies were thrilled that we gave them away so who cares?
Also, if ever you need to feel good about yourself hang out with these ladies. They will gush over how pretty and wonderful and sweet you are. What an ego booster I tell ya!

Chris and Adam with some of the crocheter's learning and relearning how to play with yarn
Group shot. Not a bad turn-out eh?

Me, Erin and Jana with some of the knitters and a whole lot o' yarn!

Ahhh, Greenwood Lake

This weekend I went up to visit JJ & Terry at their lake house for no good reason other than to relax with my peeps. It was great!!! They over-feed me, gave me too much liquor, made me take multiple naps and took me to Target where we bought board games and water-colors. They really know how to appeal to my inner child! (I even got a little of my sock done!)
The only thing that wasn't great was the weather, but look at the cool fog rolling over the trees!
(That's the view from their front porch - not too shabby if I do say so myself)

More Harlot Info.

She blogged about our little trip and even posted us on her site! I only wish the rest of the group could have been there for the fun. Oh well, next time!

(I'm rushing at work, sorry it's just a boring link and tiny post)

Really Knitty? Really?

The girls were 100% right, not lovin' this issue so much :-(
The socks are nice, but it's not too tough to mess socks up. Oh well, there's always next time!

Whoopee!

Our regularly scheduled knitting night was interrupted by this...

Yup, that's her, the one and only, Yarn Harlot!

It was a great night! She told us little knitting ditties, that only those of us in the know would find humorous, answered questions, demonstrated her under-arm speedy knitting style and signed everyone's books.

I'll be interested to see if you can find our little group in her picture of the audience when she posts it - hope I'm not drooling in it or anything embarrassing like that ;-)

I'm only sad that my camera (or me, but I really think it was the camera this time), was malfunctioning and almost every single picture was uber blurry. Oh well, I still got to see her! Much thanks to Erin for finding out about this, Chris for driving and Jana just for being there ;-)

Here's the gang after getting our books signed...

Final SP package!

Look what I got!

Yup, it's the last of the SP7 packages and what a great one it was! I don't have this book yet and I'm so excited to get into it (the title says it all, no?)! That, yellow can you see is a planter for marigolds which I plan to grow on my desk at work to keep me a'smilin'. There was also a great smelling candle hidden in the foam peanuts that made me wonder for a second there if you hadn't packed a yummy smelling man in the box ;-)

Thank you so much Secret Homie for spoiling me throughout SP7, can't wait to have a chance to go through your blog. Hope your SP experience was as good as mine!

Look!

It's like totally going to be a sock soon!

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't blogged sooner but it's been a bit hectic since my return to the States. I'm going to be quick tonight and just post a couple of pictures from my trip. Eventually I'll show you the progression of my first real sock --- there's a few mistakes in it already but I don't care, I just want to get it on my foot!

OK, Blogger isn't accepting my pictures, so we'll just have to stick with a hello for now - Hi All!
